MISSION
Our mission is Gods mission! We are not here to do our own thing, but are called of God to fulfill His will. This is what we mean by our goal. Our goal is based in the Scriptures and is Gods method of reaching the world with the Gospel. Our goal and missions statement is found in Matthew 28:18-20 where we see three aspects to one mission. According to this passage we will be teaching the Gospel so that people will hear a clear message of how they may be saved. We will baptize the believers and then teach them the whole counsel of God. Matthew 28:18-20 says " And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." It is from this passage that we state our three goals as preaching the Gospel, planting churches, and preparing national leadership!
HOPE
Within these goals God has given us a specific focus and theme to reach the Mennonites of Bolivia. This focus, theme, and emphasis is hope! The Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ according to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. This passage is known as the resurrection chapter where the apostle Paul defends the doctrine of a literal resurrection. The resurrection is so important because our hope is in the resurrection of Jesus! This is the hope we want to share with the Mennonites of Bolivia!
God gave us this theme as an answer to the hopelessness these Mennonites experience. After sharing the Gospel with them and asking where they stand they usually will say "I hope I will go to heaven". This broke our hearts because they have an empty hope with no assured expectation and a hope that has a question mark at the end. Please pray for us as we seek to give them the lively hope which is in the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
